Overview - Internationalization

Internationalization

After achieving and consolidating a significant position in the Portuguese market, Millennium bcp strategically opted to expand the retail business internationally.

From the beginning, BCP's internationalization process has been focused on foreign markets with strong growth and profitability prospects and with a close historical connection to Portugal or with large communities of Portuguese origin, as well as on foreign markets to where the Bank's successful business model can be effectively exported and tailored to suit local needs.

Group BCP became an internationally renowned institution focused on retail distribution of financial products and services, especially in the European markets: Poland (Bank Millennium), Greece (Millennium bank), and Romania (Millennium bank) - and in Africa - Angola (Millennium Angola), and Mozambique (Millennium bim).

The Bank also operates in Switzerland - which activities have a significant role in the private banking and asset management businesses and mainly serve Group Customers from Portugal, Poland and Greece - and in Macao, through its onshore branch - which aims to establish an international business platform between China/Macao, Portuguese-speaking Africa and Europe.
