Ranking highlights the European companies that have made the most progress in reducing greenhouse gas emissions

Millennium bcp, in Portugal, and Bank Millennium, in Poland, are part of the “Europe’s Climate Leaders 2024” ranking by Financial Times and Statista.
Millennium bcp, for the 4th consecutive time, and Bank Millennium, for the 2nd time, were distinguished as leading companies in the fight against climate change, according to the “Europe’s Climate Leaders 2024” ranking by Financial Times and Statista.
This ranking, now in its 4th edition, is developed by this leading international newspaper and by Statista, a German company specialized in market and consumer research, and highlights the European companies that have made the most progress in reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
The steady increase in corporate emissions data has meant that this year the Climate Leaders list comprises 600 companies, compared to the 300 that were selected in 2021, year in which this ranking began.
At a national level, in 2023, Millennium bcp's GHG emissions remained stable when compared to the same period in 2022, with a reduction of 84.8% in the 2018/2023 period. In Poland, in 2023, GHG emissions decreased by 25.8% vs. those registered in 2022 and by 77.8% when compared to 2018 values.
In the 2023, 2022 and 2021 editions of the "Carbon Disclosure Project", Millennium bcp obtained the classification "B” / “Management", after having received the notation of “A-“ / “Leadership" in 2020, continuing, also in this evaluation, to join the group of companies with the best performance worldwide in terms of GHG emissions.
Millennium bcp develops a Sustainability strategy that incorporates and promotes a culture of environmental responsibility and of fighting, mitigating, and adapting to climate change, where the protection of the surrounding environment and biodiversity, the preservation of natural resources and the rationalization of consumption constitute objectives that make up the essence of the Bank's Environmental Policy in Portugal
