Sign language service

The same level of service for everyone

Millennium bcp is the first Bank to provide service for the deaf in branches through Portuguese Sign Language interpreters

 

Millennium bcp has just launched, in partnership with Serviin, a service with Portuguese Sign Language (LGP) interpreters across all its branches, enabling the deaf community to independently access the services offered by the Bank. This is a pioneering service in Portugal, making Millennium the first Bank to implement it in the market.

Having sign language interpreters, allowing the deaf community to carry out transactions independently, reflects our daily commitment to fostering a corporate culture that promotes equal opportunities, with a strong focus on sustainability and inclusion. This partnership symbolizes the importance the Bank places on People and Equal Opportunities," said Miguel Maya, CEO of Millennium bcp.

 

Through this free service, available at any Millennium bcp or ActivoBank branch during business hours, a Bank employee will initiate a video call with one of the interpreters, ensuring accessible, inclusive, and equitable service. In a second phase, the telephone channel will also be integrated into this service, primarily for general information.
