Médis Light is a health insurance plan that provides discounts on consultations, exams, and clinical tests within the Médis network, along with a daily hospitalization subsidy. Its main advantage over traditional Médis is that it has no waiting periods, medical questionnaires, or age limits for subscription or permanence. Coverage is immediate (activated within 2 business days) and allows you to add your entire household to the policy.
On the other hand, Médis insurance offers more comprehensive protection through options 1, 2, 3, Vintage, or Vintage Plus, covering expenses for surgeries and other medical procedures within your selected capital limit. Coverage can be tailored to your needs, and options 1, 2, and 3 may include expenses for oncological treatments and other serious illnesses.
For additional protection with Médis Light insurance, you can also add Médis Dental insurance.

The policyholder is the person who subscribes to the policy and is responsible for payment. The policyholder may or may not be an insured person.
The policyholder is the first insured person of Médis Light insurance. If the person who pays is also an insured person, they are considered the policyholder.
To subscribe, the policyholder must be at least 18 years old, have a current Millennium account, a registered Portuguese tax address with Millennium, a Portuguese taxpayer number, and an updated email on the Millennium App.
Yes, you can re-subscribe as long as you canceled your policy more than a year ago. If it was canceled less than a year ago, you won’t be able to get the same insurance again. However, you can choose from all the other options available in the app.
Yes, Médis Light or Médis Light + Dental is independent of your existing Médis insurance. It can be subscribed to by Médis customers, customers of other insurance companies (including health subsystems), and even those without any insurance.
No, Médis Light and Médis Light + Dental insurance does not require filling out a medical questionnaire.
The Médis Light insurance cards are sent to the policyholder's address.
You can add minors if you are their legal representative or if you have authorization from their guardian.

There are 2 advantages. When subscribing to Médis Light + Médis Dental, the price is €17.90/month per person. If you subscribe to the insurance separately, the amount increases to €21.80/month per person. If you add more people, you can enjoy discounts of up to 20% on the total price.
No. Médis Light health insurance is separate from both Médis and Médis Dental health insurance.

Payment of Médis Light insurance
Médis Light payments are made monthly by direct debit from your selected account when you subscribe to the insurance.
If your Médis Light policy started on the 1st, the payment is made every month on the 1st. If your policy started on the 15th, the payment is made every month on the 15th.
No, Médis Light payments are made on the 1st or 15th of each month, depending on the start date of your policy.

Médis Light coverage
The coverage and pricing options are available in the coverage area and cannot be modified.
Médis Light: ambulatory care, online doctor, home assistance services, urgent transport, and a 2nd opinion from a specialist at the Navarra University Clinic. It also includes a daily hospitalization allowance. The coverage is detailed in the General Conditions.
Médis Light + Médis Dental:with this insurance, in addition to the treatments associated with Médis Light, you may be entitled to 17 additional coverages with the inclusion of Médis Dental.
You are entitled to exclusive conditions for other medical procedures and treatments through the Médis Dental Network, including aesthetics.

How Médis Light insurance works
You can start using it when you receive your Médis Light card number.
All hospitals and clinics are available in the Médis Guide, filtered by Médis Light Network and Médis Dental Network.
- Treatments, surgeries, and other procedures to correct diseases or congenital malformations. This rule does not apply to newborns who have had Médis since birth, as the Particular Conditions of this insurance ensure medical intervention for illnesses or congenital malformations.
- Expenses incurred for services from doctors who are spouses, parents, children, or siblings of the insured person;
- Expenses for services that are not medically necessary, including hospital assistance and treatment for social reasons;
- Non-stomatal illnesses that you have before subscribing to the health insurance;
- Accidents or illnesses that are covered by mandatory insurance, such work-related or road accidents;
- Sports accidents, whether professional or amateur;
- Infectious diseases declared as epidemics by the health authority.

It is valid in mainland Portugal and its islands.
Coverage begins on the date specified in the contract. Contracts end at midnight on the last day of the term. Contracts with an initial period of one year are automatically renewed for another year. The Médis Light policy starts at the date and time registered in the contract.
Just choose the healthcare provider you want and contact them directly. In the Médis Guide, you can check the Médis Light Network or the Médis Dental Network to find a healthcare provider that suits your needs.
No. Médis Light insurance can only be used within the Médis Light network. Médis Light + Dental can be used in the Médis Light and Médis Dental networks. You don’t need to submit a claim for reimbursement since the price you pay already includes the discount. You can check the Médis Guide and the Médis Light and Médis Dental Networks through the available filters.
You can use it in case of illness, for questions about exams, to show tests and exam results to the doctor, or to request prescriptions, all through the Médis app or website.
To qualify for the allowance, you must submit the medical report and hospitalization discharge note to Médis. This allowance of €50 per day begins on the 4th day of hospitalization at any national hospital, with a limit of 60 days per year. It is intended to help cover unexpected expenses during your hospital stay.
Not necessarily. You can be hospitalized in the National Health Service or a private institution, regardless of whether it's part of the Médis Light or Médis networks, as long as it is located within the national territory.
Primary and specialty care consultations, excluding psychiatry, cost a maximum of €30. Consultations in this area are billed at agreed prices.
The maximum cost of an emergency consultation is €70.
The Médis Assistant Doctor is a specialist in General and Family Medicine or Internal Medicine who can assist you by phone or in person.
They are familiar with your medical history and can advise you on the best course of action or provide the most appropriate treatment for your situation.
It’s free. Through the Médis app, you can consult a General and Family Medicine specialist anytime, anywhere in the world, with or without an appointment. Pediatric appointments are also free on weekdays from 4 pm to 9 pm.
Additionally, you can schedule psychology consultations (5 pm to 8 pm), traveler consultations (9 am to 6 pm), and psychiatry consultations (6 pm to 8 pm), all available on weekdays.
Yes. Here's the price list for each exam or test that is included:
X-ray: up to €12.50 per X-ray;
Ultrasound: up to €45 per ultrasound;
It includes breast ultrasound, gynecological ultrasound, obstetric ultrasound, soft tissue ultrasound, and renal ultrasound.
CT scan: up to €75 per CT scan;
It excludes complex CT scans such as Angio, Arthro, Entero, and Uro CT scans.
Tests: €4.70 per test;
It includes tests to glucose, creatinine, urea, total cholesterol, triglycerides, urine II (summary urine analysis), and sedimentation rate.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging: access at an agreed price.
Physiotherapy: up to €25;
Value per procedure billed separately, such as Direct current, high-frequency current, ultrasound, moist heat, respiratory kinesitherapy, manual massage of an area, hydromassage, helium-neon laser therapy, cryotherapy, and special kinesitherapy techniques.
Additional diagnostic methods: up to €170 per procedure.
It includes electrocardiogram, audiogram, tympanogram, colposcopy, spirometry, color Doppler echo "Triplex Scan," orthopantomography, and mammography.
Médis Light guarantees you:
- Doctor at home: unlimited, free of charge;
- Food services at home: 5 sessions/year free of charge;

If you have an illness proven by a medical report, we also guarantee:
